Join Us in Philadelphia

A drumbeat is heralding a new wave of collaboration and conversation focused on the learning in our schools. An army is forging the way for unique partnerships that advance our school-based reforms for student success. The 2005 NSDC Annual Conference in Philadelphia will generate a feverpitch of excitement designed to infuse professional learning into the school day for every teacher, for every administrator, and for every staff member in support of the students.

Our own professional learning inspires us to become energized as educators and offers us a key for revolutionizing teaching and learning. This conference, in the city where American democracy was born, will provide you with dynamic and thought-provoking keynote addresses, prominent distinguished lecturers to challenge your thinking, and a wealth of concurrent sessions designed to enrich your practice, motivate your colleagues, and make a significant difference for students.

Featuring teacher leaders, instructional coaches, principals, administrators, superintendents, and committed educational leaders, the Philadelphia conference offers you an exceptional opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills and to focus on the unprecedented challenges of ensuring that all of the students in our schools learn at the highest levels.

While in Philadelphia, you can trace American history at Carpenters’ Hall – site of the First Continental Congress – or meander to Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. You will want to tour the Betsy Ross House, Franklin Court, and the Graff House, where Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence. You may want to visit our nation’s first zoo or cross the Delaware to the New Jersey State Aquarium and the Battleship New Jersey Memorial and Museum.

Shopping for a souvenir, an eclectic array of trinkets, or the latest in fashion can be accomplished in the heart of the city decorated for the holiday season. If culture is what you have in mind, you can take in a play, hear the symphony orchestra, or visit any one of the city’s numerous museums. At day’s end, Philadelphia’s rich dining experiences provide a true melting pot of diverse culinary adventure from the Italian Market to Reading Terminal or the hundreds of eateries within the city.

Welcome to the 37th NSDC Annual Conference—A Declaration of Professional Learning: The Revolution Begins!

Become inspired! Lead the charge! Get motivated! We look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia.

Sincerely,

Victoria Duff
