Title: Senior Director of Professional Learning
Reports to: President
Key objectives:
- Identify, recruit, develop, assess and retain world-class professional developers whose abilities are consistent with the needs of the Center and Clients
- Achieve individual performance goals.
- Collaborate effectively on Center teams and projects outside of your specific responsibilities to ensure achievement of Center goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and revise rubric for evaluation and recruitment of Center Professional Development Associates (PDA’s).
- Collaborate with the Client Relations Team and Director Certification training for identification of:
- Number of certified PDAs needed to meet corporate goals
- Critical content areas for PDA depth, including certification
- Monitor and manage Center norms for all PDA presentations:
- Center materials
- Professional conduct before, during and after presentations
- Interactions with Center colleagues
- Interactions with colleagues from other organizations
- Create systematic and consistent method for insuring that all PDA’s have all essential knowledge and skills before they present to a client.
- Annually review and revise all PDA orientation materials.
- Annually review and revise PDA orientation schedule.
- Maintain a complete record of PDA’s progress toward and completion of orientation.
- Development and implement a performance assessment to verify understanding of Center procedures after orientation has been complete.
- Review, revise, and implement an effective mentoring system for supporting PDAs.
- Annual review to include:
- Review of objective reports of all mentors.
- Subjective feedback from mentors and mentees on the system.
- Clearly define mentor job descriptions.
- Recommend new mentors to begin July 1st, for a one-year term.
- Collaborate with mentors to create mentor self-assessment system.
- Assign PDAs to mentors annually.
- Create virtual mentor meetings at least once per month.
- Lead live mentor meetings three times during the year.
- Collaborate with Center team members to identify and develop future mentors.
- Annually review, revise and implement the PDA review system to assure quality review, reflecting both internal and external elements.
- Collaborate with client relations and operations on internal elements.
- Assure both client and participant data is collected on every engagement.
- Develop tool that fosters PDA development and improvement of critical knowledge and skills.
- Develop plan to communicate quality reviews to PDA’s on a quarterly basis.
- Collaborate with PDA website manager to:
- Maintain all documents for orientation on the Center PDA web site
- Identify orientation elements appropriate for video and develop for placement on Center PDA web site.
- Maintain PDA field experience.
- Provide 10 days during the fiscal year of service to clients and maintain exceptional quality indicators.
- Maximize the use of field days to take place on large-scale presentations so that other professional developers are on a client site delivering services at the same time as Director.

- Participate in Center’s Operations Committee and Executive Committee
- Participate in planning and execution of Colloquy and retreats in PDA development.
- Formulate annual PDA budget
- Create professional development plan.
- Attend two strategic national conferences for

- Collaborate with colleagues to assure achievement of Center goals.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years progressive experience as a Center Professional Development Associate or as a professional developer with a national or international professional development organization
- Solid knowledge of all Center services and products and their interconnection.
- Minimum one year experience as Certified Trainer in at least two Center certifications or similar experience with a national or international professional development organization
- Maintenance of exceptional quality indicators.
- Solid knowledge of PDA processes and requirements.
- Masters Degree in Education or related field
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective strategic project plans.
- Understanding of profit-loss calculations and basic business finance.
- Team player and collaborator who can drive results through teams, interfacing with all disciplines at all levels.
- Ability to lead through influence rather than authority.
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality service and business profit.
- A natural planner who critically assesses his/her own performance and can work in concert with Executive Committee to measure his/her success in achieving designated organizational and personal objectives that support the company's goals and missions.
- Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior executives.
- Experienced in the use of MS Office including Excel, Word, Power Point, MS CRM.
Salary and Benefits: $90,000 -$95,000 plus revenue achievement bonuses based on longevity and productivity. Bonuses can be approximately 1/3rd of base salary. Excellent benefits package including employer-paid medical care, cafeteria plan (flexible spending accounts), 401(k) plan with employer match up to 4% of compensation, accumulation of up to three months of paid leave. With approval of supervisor and coordination with colleagues, employee may work one day per week from home provided that all performance objectives are met.

Title: Director of Client Solutions
Reports to: President
Goal: Create a system for identifying client needs and optimizing the Center's service to every client. The goal is to have every single part of the Center work together seamlessly to serve clients, and to structure proposals and execution such that more clients join the Leadership and Learning Network.
Performance Objectives: Develop and implement written systems for:
- Preliminary Client needs assessment
- Preliminary proposal
- Comprehensive client needs assessment
- Comprehensive proposal
- Execution blueprint based on available Center resources
- Provides early notification to other divisions about trends in client needs
- Every quarter provides comprehensive report on trends in client needs
- Every quarter provide comprehensive report on trends in Center execution of proposals - best practices and challenges.
- Every quarter provides comprehensive reports on trends in consultant performance or emerging needs in the field.
Proposal Roles
- Content Development for web-based "building blocks" that correspond to every service, seminar, and resource that The Center provides. These are in separate documents that can be assembled consistently and accurately every time. The entire focus of this position is to move proposal generation away from Directors of Client Relations and to assure consistency in format, contents, etc.
- Participate (as needed by the Directors of Client Relations) in initial conference calls with clients to learn about client needs and identify scope of proposal.
- Participate in all Professional Development Associate professional learning in order to represent accurately in proposals what the Center's services, seminars, and resource really do for clients. This also requires a complete familiarity with the Center's marketing and research information.
- Coordinate with the Professional Learning Director to identify which Professional Development Associates will be assigned to which engagements. The concept is to stop requiring the Directors of Client Relations to make so many administrative calls back and forth to Professional Development Associates, and have Directors of Client Relations instead focus on calling clients and development new clients.
Key Qualifications:

Director – Center for Classroom, Teaching, & Learning
Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory (NWREL)
The Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory (NWREL) improves educational results for children, youth, and adults by providing research and development assistance in delivering equitable, high-quality educational programs. NWREL is a private, nonprofit corporation which has served the Northwest region since 1966 as its Regional Educational Laboratory under contract with the U. S. Department of Education, as well as other federal, state, and local agencies and organizations.
The Center for Classroom Teaching and Learning (CCTL) provides research-based resources and services to enable educators to implement high-quality curriculum, instruction, and assessments that foster improved learning, performance, and achievement for all students.
DUTIES
- Working with staff, provide leadership to establish an even more coherent vision and growing portfolio of work for CCTL that aligns with the NWREL mission and contributes to accomplishment of NWREL strategic goals
- Lead resource development efforts to assure adequate and growing funding to support work envisioned for the Center
- Lead and contribute to enhancing the regional and national reputation of staff, the Center, and NWREL as providing superior quality, technically sound service in high needs topics related to content focused classroom teaching and learning
- Working with managers in CCTL, plan and manage multiple budgets to complete work specified in contracts and grants with high quality and available funding
- Lead staff through growth oriented supervision to enhance their skills and productivity
- Contribute to the leadership and success of NWREL as an organization through participation as a member of Executive Cabinet, participation in organizational events and initiatives, promotion of cross-center initiatives, and participation in meetings of the Board of Directors
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training: Master’s degree in education or other field related to teaching and learning
Experience: The successful applicant should have the following skills, knowledge, and abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of regional and national trends in classroom focused school improvement/change efforts
- Five years experience in leading and managing senior staff, including oversight of their continuing growth and development
- Proven track record in developing and maintaining over time a program/center that has broad, clear focus and multiple funding sources
- Proven track record of resource development, including proposal writing
- Excellent interpersonal skills in working with diverse clients and staff to plan and complete projects and activities
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication
Desired/Preferred
- Doctoral degree in education or other field related to teaching and learning
- Ten years experience in leading training, technical assistance, development, evaluation and/or research related to content focused classroom teaching; literacy and/or ELL content background preferred
Physical Demands/Conditions:
Office
- Sit for prolonged periods of time, finger dexterity for the operation of a personal computer, operate a telephone, ability to lift or transport small packages weighing up to 35 pounds, frequent interruptions to concentration, interact with a wide range of clients and co-workers.
Travel
- Moderate to extensive travel requirements (25% to 40 % of work schedule) including overnight stays out of state.

COMPENSATION

Professional Development Specialist
The World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) Consortium of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Wisconsin Center for Education Research is seeking a professional development specialist. WIDA is a consortium of sixteen member states dedicated to the design and implementation of high standards and equitable educational opportunities for English language learners. These sixteen states account for approximately 500,000 English language learners in kindergarten through grade 12. Research and professional development (PD) activities are key to the implementation of the WIDA standards and assessment products.
The Professional Development Specialist will support the development and dissemination of professional development opportunities and resources to teachers and administrators throughout the consortium.
Appointment: 50-100%
Requirements:
- Teaching experience in K-12 environments
- ESL and/or Bilingual Education license or endorsement
- Masters Degree in education
- Experience in the administration, training, and/or coordination of large-scale assessments
- Experience in the development and delivery of professional development related to English language learners

- Work with adult, professional development user groups on new techniques and practices through meetings, workshops, conferences, the preparation of training materials, and other means;
- Conduct, evaluate and apply field research to professional development training;
- Collaborate with project leadership to coordinate training conferences which include planning, development, delivery, and presentation of materials and resources;
- Compile and report on evaluation results of workshops, presentations, and materials;
- Develop and deliver on-line or web-based training materials and resources to members of the WIDA Consortium
